North Texas State Championships
Last weekend the Trampoline & Tumbling Team competed at the North Texas State Championships!! This competition was their first opportunity to qualify for Nationals and the athletes definitely showed their desire to be at the Junior Olympic National Championships in Long Beach this summer. Head Coach Amy McDonald said it was her best State Championships that she has coached in her career! One after another the athletes stepped up to their event and ended up qualifying to Nationals!
EWA ended up with 23 GOLD MEDALS!! 10 SILVER MEDALS!! 7 BRONZE MEDALS!! And 8 TEAM AWARDS! The athletes did a phenomenal job and they are definitely motivated to do even better at the Region 3 Championships April 27th – 29th in Fort Worth.

The EWA Competitive Team had 19 athletes on 44 events and they qualified 17 athletes on 41 events!!! Coach Amy said “We could not have been more proud and we are so excited to have the athletes qualify to Nationals in Long Beach this summer! Congrats to all the athletes, hard work definitely pays off!! I also have no doubt that we will have all of the athletes qualify on all the events following the Region 3 Championships in 2 weeks.”
Also this was the last competition for the Advanced Training Groups from Allen & Prosper for the season and definitely made EWA proud!! These athletes are going to be great additions to the EWA Trampoline & Tumbling Competitive Team.
Their results are as follows…
Kirsten Omholt competed as an 11-12 level 5 on Tumbling and finished in 8th place, she also did level 5 on Trampoline and finished 4th, and she finished with level 5 on Double Mini and placed 11th overall.
Lauren Omholt is in the 7-8 age group and competed as a level 4 on Tumbling, Trampoline, and Double Mini. She swept her age group and level and placed 1st place on all of her events.
Grayson Ireland competed in the 11-12 age group as a level 6 on Trampoline and Double Mini, he finished 2nd on Double Mini and 6th on Trampoline. He also competed as a level 4 on Tumbling and came home with the gold medal.
Marshall Stanton competed in the 9-10 age group as a level 6 on Trampoline and Double Mini, he finished 3rd on Trampoline and 2nd on Double Mini. He also competed as a level 5 on Tumbling and came home with the gold medal.
Mac Stout competed in the 11-12 age group as a level 6 on Trampoline and Double Mini, he finished 1st on Trampoline and 4th on Double Mini. He also competed as a level 5 on Tumbling and came home with the silver medal.
Faith Bowers competed in the 9-10 age group as a level 6 on Tumbling and Double Mini, she finished 3rd on Tumbling and 16th on Double Mini. She also competed as a level 5 on Trampoline and finished 13th overall.
Hope Bowers competed in the 9-10 age group as a level 6 on Tumbling and Double Mini, she finished 12th on Tumbling and 18th on Double Mini. She also competed as a level 5 on Trampoline and finished 9th overall.
Karsyn Kemp competed in the 11-12 age group as a level 5 on a Tumbling and Trampoline, she finished 4th on Tumbling and 3rd on Trampoline. She also competed as a level 6 on Double Mini and finished 16th overall.
Peyton Hulett competed in the 7-8 age group as a level 3 on Tumbling and a level 4 on Trampoline and Double Mini, he swept his age group and came home with 3 gold medals.
