Safety Protocols

Dear Eagles Wings Athletics,

We want to thank you for being a valued customer. EWA wants you to know that the health and well being of our customers, our employees and our community is our top priority. I would like to share with you some of the safety protocols our gym will be incorporating in our day to day operations:

  • Increasing the frequency in cleaning of the used areas by sanitizing before, during, and after groups/class
  • Making hand sanitizer available to students and staff for every class
  • Limited spotting throughout Phase ONE and Phase TWO
  • Velcro markers will be placed throughout the gym to help with student distancing
  • In order to avoid traffic when entering and exiting, students in Prosper will enter through one of our side doors. In Anna, students will enter through the back door. All students will exit through the original entrance
  • The use of cubbies and lockers will be prohibited through Phase ONE and TWO
  • All water fountains and vending machines will be closed through Phase ONE and TWO
  • Limited training hours for competitive teams, camps, and rec classes to stay within our 25% capacity
  • Students will be asked to wash or sanitize hands when entering the gym
  • The use of props will be limited

Aside from what EWA is doing to protect our staff and customers, we have some recommendations we would like families to consider in order to protect our coaches and other athletes:

  • Shower or bathe before attending practice
  • Parents can help keep numbers down by not staying during child’s practice time
  • Take temperature before coming to practice
  • EWA does reserve the right to take a student’s temperature if a student shows any COVID-19, flu, or cold like symptoms. If a student’s temperature is taken and above 100.4, student will be sent home immediately, and all EWA customers will be notified.
  • If your child is showing any of the following symptoms, we recommend they are kept home:
  • Runny nose
  • Sore throat
  • Stomachache
  • Headache
  • Loss of taste/smell
  • Chills
  • No more than one adult per child in building

A note about PPE Masks and facial coverings: As this is not mandatory on either the state or town level, we are only making this a recommendation. I understand that keeping a mask on our younger students is a difficult task. We certainly do not want to scare them and absolutely want to be respectful of any of our friends who may have claustrophobia or sensory issues. Further for many of our teachers and students, masks are not feasible given the danger presented while doing skills and intensity of workouts.

Your peace of mind is of utmost importance to us and we hope this better informs you of the additional measures we have put in place with the safety of customers and employees in mind. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance. We look forward to Phase ONE May 18th. See you soon!!

With kind regards,

EWA Management
