Updated Frontier Closures

Weather permitting, the contractor (Mario Sinacola) is scheduled to close the section of Frontier Parkway between Victory Way/Worthington and Talon Drive on Monday July 26^th and reopen on August 9^th before school starts.  During this time, there will be a temporary detour along Victory Way, Coleman and Talon Drive. This will allow the contractor the ability to construct an underground drainage crossing just east of the Prosper High School driveway which will be much safer to have complete before school starts instead of constructing the underground drainage while school is in session under normal traffic operations.  The contractor mistakenly put the signage out on Friday, in the wrong locations, with incorrect information.  We are working now with the contractor to get remedied.  During this temporary detour, the existing driveway connection from Frontier Parkway to the Business Park will not be closed off. 

On or around August 9^th when the underground drainage crossing is complete and the section of the Frontier Parkway between Victory Way/Worthington and Talon Drive is reopened, there will be a new temporary detour road to the north across a new temporary railroad crossing.  This new temporary detour road will be in place from on or around August 9^th to on or around November 2022.  The temporary detour road will connect to existing Frontier Parkway across from the driveway into the Prosper High School, cross the railroad tracks at the new temporary railroad crossing, and connect back to existing Frontier Parkway across from the driveway to the PISD Stadium.  This will allow the existing section of Frontier Parkway between the two driveways mentioned to be closed (including the existing connection from Frontier Parkway to the Business Park).  During this time, the contractor will be constructing the overpass over the BNSF RR and the new access driveway for the business park from Frontier Parkway.  The new access driveway (Dylan Drive) connects to the PISD stadium driveway and travels parallel and just north of the parking lot of the PISD stadium.  A better depiction of the new access driveway for the business park from Frontier Parkway is shown in the link to the video in the original email below. 

The contractor expects that the new access driveway connection will be in place in approximately 6 months, which will then remove the need to access the Business Park through the PISD Stadium property.  And on or around November 2022, the southside lanes and overpass at BNSF RR will be in place, which will put all traffic back onto the existing alignment of Frontier Parkway.  The ultimate end of construction of the four lanes is anticipated in Summer 2023.
